In Lithuania, a new draft of the Labour Code is currently being debated by the Government and social partners. A group of scientists has developed a new social model leading to several new laws on social security, pensions, employment, and including a new draft of the Labour Code. The draft of the Labour Code enhances the flexicurity of employment relations and establishes more flexible work arrangements and facilities the amendment of employment contract and dismissal, and balances arrangements for working time. Nevertheless, the new draft of the Labour Code involves rigorous provisions, e.g. the obligation of the company with fewer than 50 employees to publish on its website the data of imposed administrative punishments and penalties to employers for a breach of labour law, to publish the impersonal data of the average wage of workers, and certain legislation of the company. In addition, the new draft of the Labour Code regulates the involvement of employees in company bodies on decisions making. Currently it is out of the realm of the Labour Code. It is planned that the new draft of the Labour Code will be implemented from 2016. The current Labour Code of Lithuania has been in force since 2003.
