BaltCap acquires Alma Littera Group

BaltCap Private Equity Fund III signed and carried out an agreement to acquire Alma Littera publishing house, Pegasas bookstores, and related group companies.

The founder and shareholder of Alma Littera publishing house and of other related group companies was represented by Glimstedt Law Firm.

Founded in Lithuania in 1990, Alma Littera Group is the largest Lithuanian-based integrated general book publisher and retailer, operating via publishing house UAB Alma littera, wholesaler UAB Alma littera sprendimai, book retailer UAB ALG knygynai, 3PL logistics provider UAB ALG logistika, and book e-commerce website UAB Knygų klubas.

As an acquirer of Alma Littera Group, BaltCap is the largest private equity and venture capital fund manager in the Baltic states, having invested in over 100 companies in Europe and raised capital of over EUR 700 million. The fund is owned by BaltCap, an international private equity fund manager, which has made this acquisition seeking to boost the growth of the largest book publisher and diversified retailer in the Baltic states.

The Glimstedt team, which included Partner Kęstutis Jaskutėlis, Partner Artūras Bakšys, Senior Associate Jurgita Zakarauskienė, Associates Laura Tunkevičiūtė, Simona Butkutė, Karolis Grižas and Tautvydas Užkuras, advised the shareholder on all legal aspects of the transaction from the viewpoint of Lithuanian law, drafted and reviewed transaction documents, represented the shareholder in negotiations and rendered assistance on other matters.
