GLIMSTEDT Associate Partner professor Dr Solveiga Palevičienė is attending the Kazan Legal International Forum that takes place on 14-16 September in Kazan (Russia), and will speak at the Forum‘s session dedicated to investment arbitration and additional opportunities to protect investments.
Companies with a presence abroad often face the risk of their operations being disrupted, or even losing assets altogether, based on the decision of the local authorities. Investment arbitration is a mechanism that allows the investor to recover damages from a foreign state. How does investment arbitration work in practice, how is it different from international commercial arbitration, what experience do companies have in dealing with these sorts of cases, what are the success factors and how to enforce an ICSID award – these question to be discussed by participants.
