First International Baltic Conference on Public Procurement to Take Place in Vilnius

On 5 May, the first International Baltic Conference on Public Procurement will take place in Vilnius. At the Conference, novelties and realities of public procurement in Lithuania and abroad will be presented by local and foreign speakers.  

“This Conference will give us an opportunity to discuss comprehensively certain novelties and challenges associated with transposition of EU Directives on Public Procurement into national law in the light of the amendments to the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Public Procurement that become effective in 2016. On 5 May, we will speak on the matters that may be relevant to lawyers, potential suppliers and contracting authorities”, says one of the Conference originators Dr Deividas Soloveičik, LL.M, Partner at the Vilnius Office of GLIMSTEDT.

Among the speakers there will be Mr Melchior Wathelet, First Advocate-General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, who will discuss the recent case law from Luxembourg. Professor Christopher Bovis FRSA from the University of Hull will provide a critical assessment of the public procurement legal and policy reforms, and Mr Priit Lätt, Partner at the Tallinn Office of GLIMSTEDT, will tell how EU Directives on Public Procurement are implemented in Estonia. Mr Karolis Šimanskis, Advisor to Chairperson of the Lithuanian Supreme Court’s Civil Cases Division, Mr Milan Kristof, Référendaire of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Ms Neringa Pažūsienė, Expert of the Central Project Management Agency, and Ms Raminta Malinauskaitė, Deputy Director of the National Audit Office’s Audit Department 8, will also share their insights at the Conference.

The International Baltic Conference on Public Procurements will be hosted jointly by GLIMSTEDT and UAB Ekspertų mugė. The Conference will be held on 5 May in Crown Plaza Vilnius Hotel at 84 M.K.Čiurlionio Street in Vilnius.
