On 18 March 2011, Paulius Gruodis attended the Annual General Meeting of Members of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance (BICG), at which the Annual Report and the Financial Statements of the Association for the year 2010 were approved, members of the Board and the Council were elected or re-elected and a Nomination Committee was formed.
At the Meeting, BICG congratulated itself with several successes, including publication of the “Baltic Guidance on the Governance of Government-Owned Enterprises” released in June, of the first-ever “Annual Review of Lithuanian State-Owned Commercial Assets”, presented by Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, released in July, of the first-ever “Annual Review, Latvian State-Owned Assets,” presented by Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, released in September, and of “Corporate Governance in Swenglish” by Raoul Hasselgren, released in November.
In 2010, BICG became an affiliate of the Global Corporate Governance Forum, an IFC multi-donor trust fund facility located in the IFC Advisory Services within the World Bank headquarters, Washington, DC.
The Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance was set up in 2008. The initiative was launched by a group of business partners, such as Bernotas & Dominas GlLIMSTEDT, Bonniers Business Press (Verslo žinios, Dienas Bizness and Äripäev), Ernst & Young, ISM University, NASDAQ OMX Baltic Stock Exchanges and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
