There is only a short time left before the electricity market opens and now is the last chance to consider again the risks and the threats and the opportunities and benefits it offers.

Once the electricity market opens on 1 January 2013, all residential and business consumers will be able to chose their preferred electricity seller, the first of which have already published their price packages. But what is meant by the open electricity market? What changes will the opening of the market mean for the consumer?

This year’s debate will be on one of 2012’s hottest topics in procurement and will feature speakers who have built a great reputation over many years. The training day will be divided into two parts, with a procurement workshop led by Priit Lätt, and a panel discussion.

The first conference of the national programme will be held on 2-3 October in the AHHAA centre in Tartu. Triin Tuulik, intellectual property rights lawyer at GLIMSTEDT law firm and PhD candidate in the Tartu University Faculty of Law, will give a public seminar on the first day of the conference, speaking about language resources from a legal point of view.

Marko Saag, lawyer at law firm GLIMSTEDT and lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology, will speak at the conference about European tax issues.

Marko Saag will give a training seminar on 27.09.2012 in the Õpetajate Maja (Tallinn Teachers’ House) on VAT in cross-border transactions. 

On September 12th will be held the season opening event in the Estonian Embassy and Marko Saag will speak about "How to benefit from Estonian tax system". 

During the seminar, Marko Saag will talk about the most significant and most common tax risks connected to cross-border activity, and how to minimise them.

Marko Saag, tax lawyer and lecturer on international tax from the Law Firm GLIMSTEDT is giving a full-day training seminar on 29 August 2012 on arranging permanent establishment for tax accounting purposes, organised by Konfera. As you are no doubt already aware, how you arrange your tax accounting can depend on whether your branch is considered a permanent establishment or not, and on whether or not your head office is in a country with which Estonia has a double taxation treaty.

University of Tartu and Law firm GLIMSTEDT joint seminar will be held on 27.06.2012.

The fourth “Lift to the Future” conference for business will be held on 8 May. Companies from many different industries will be present at the event along with universities and entrepreneurial support organisations.
